Did you know that we have several essential oils in our arsenal that improve the elastin and collagen levels in our skin??
As a 37 year old woman, I have zero issue with Warren saying I have a baby face because he’s right, I’m mostly wrinkle free 🙂
I attribute the health of my skin to my diet (beauty isn’t skin deep) and my skin care regime so here are a few of my fav essential oils and products to incorporate……
Juniper Berry and Lemon both share the ability to inhibit Elastase production in the skin. Elastase is an enzyme which degenerates elastin levels in our skin. Elastin keeps our skin wrinkle free and smooth so we definitely don’t want it degenerating!
Yarrow|Pom is rather amazing and deserves a whole article written about it which I will!
According to research conducted in 2006, Yarrow can suppress the production of Melanin in the skin which could be super helpful for anyone dealing with skin pigmentation issues or age spots that need to disappear.
It goes without saying that Frankincense has profoundly supportive qualities when it comes to the health of our skin and ageing like a Queen.
Studies have found remarkable results in showing how frankincense oil helps tone and lift skin, as well as reduce the appearances of scars and acne and heal wounds.
Lastly we have Geranium essential oil. Research indicates that collagen production in the skin increases with consistent application of geranium essential oil. Yep.
All of the oils mentioned above are equally wonderful for calming redness and inflammation in the skin, balancing sebum production and improving skin clarity.
Here’s how I tend to use mine –
I add 2 drops of Yarrow|Pom to my homemade skin serum OR the Verage Skin Serum which is lush and already includes Frankincense. I apply this all over my face, neck and décolletage every morning.
I add 1 drop of Juniper and Geranium to my Verage Moisturiser daily which I apply after my skin serum.
So there you have it, I’d LOVE to hear what your favourite skin boosting essential oils are and how you use them so pop them below for me.
