I bow at her feet for many reasons.
Rose is one of the most powerful essential oils women on a preconception journey can incorporate into their daily routines.
Her thick, honey-like drops that respond magically to the warmth of our body are a balm for our womb, the reproductive system as a whole, our sexuality and our creativity.
Rose is strengthening and toning to the uterus whilst encouraging balance to our cycle. Her toning effects may enhance our ability to not only accept an embryo but also hold onto it and support healthy implantation. Rose paired with Black Spruce essential oil (for it’s Bornyl Acetate) is a powerful combination to help sustain this process through immunological modulation at the maternal-fetal interface.
Having had my own fair share of pregnancy loss the past eighteen months, I will definitely be giving this combination a go next time round to support my immune system with the addition of Quercetin which was mentioned in the above study link.
My roller bottle blend will be-
20 drops of Rose essential oil
30 drops of Black Spruce essential oil
10 drops of Frankincense (to harmonise the blend)
Topped with carrier oil and ready to apply daily over the lower abdomen.
Quercetin is a polyphenol antioxidant and it’s found in the doTerra Lifelong Vitality and Mito2Max supplements. Taking both will ensure a healthy dose of this excellent flavonoid.
Rose also has mucolytic properties that promote healthy vaginal secretions and cervical mucus which will support the travel of sperm through the cervix and allow them to swim freely and fast. Thick, sticky mucous is not productive to the journey of sperm, they simply cannot swim in it making success conception almost impossible. Fertile mucous occurs only around ovulation and should be watery, clear, like eggwhite and plentiful! Rose can help us achieve that.
Did you know that sperm need to take a little nap and have a little feed at the halfway mark of their journey to go the whole distance?? This amuses me greatly!
For women who are in preconception mode, it’s important that stress levels are kept as low as possible so as not to interfere with the delicate balance of the endocrine system. Rose is a powerful inhibitor of stress-induced activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenocortical axis (HPA axis) and thereby prevents chronic stress-induced inflammation and the ensuing hormone dysregulation.
She cancels out the fear response in us and puts the break on those feelings of fight or flight that occur sometimes on the days when we are experiencing discord in our personal lives. This makes her a fantastic ally for those with adrenal stress or chronic fatigue. She is calming, nurturing and soothing both in heartbreak and frustration as well as anger fear and depression. Rose opens us back up to love.
One of my favourite blends to aromatically dress myself with is Rose, Ylang Ylang and Grapefruit. Try 3 drops of each in your favourite carrier oil and massage all over your body from tip to toe for absolute bliss and relaxation.
As you apply Rose you will likely experience a quietening of mental chatter and notice the mind going into reverie…. this is thanks to her ability to evoke Alpha brain wave states where we are relaxed and day dream-like. Try pairing Rose with Neroli and Jasmine to take this effect to the next level.
She revives our skin cells, smooths wrinkles, rejuvenates our skin texture and brings healing and balance to our tissues. Rose paired with Juniper Berry and Frankincense is my favourite combination to enhance skin elasticity and collagen renewal. Rose increases skin permeability friends which means whatever you pair her with, she will help your skin drink it up and transcend the deepest layers of the skin.
This can also be a double-edged sword though if you are still using toxic, chemical-based, heavy metal-laden skin care products. You’ve been warned. Choose nature always.
Enjoy Rose today, love on her and let her love on you in return.
It goes without saying, if you don’t yet have doTerra’s beautifully potent, pure and powerful essential oils in your life. Please do send me a message as I’d love to help change that.
